Àurea Meira
This artwork called “Spiral” reminds me the idea of continuous movement; the idea of looking towards ourselves, in our seek for evolution and growth as a human being and, at the same time, looking towards the world around us, resulting in an interaction between us and the world in a continuous and evolutionary movement.
Graduated in Psychology and Landscaping, but always with the desire to work with clay. For years she has had her own atelier where she builds a wood oven. On her pieces, produced by hand, she works instinctively, she tries to express herself with creative freedom in relation to movement: cuts, lightness and proportions of nature, thus finding a spontaneous balance between form, tone and structure. Aurea is mainly inspired by both organic movements such as marine corals, flowers, tree leaves, and by using the harmonic proportions of female forms, incorporating them into the forms of her works. She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions.
