Antonia Schroeder she says about herself “My passion for ceramics began five years ago, attending the studio of the ceramist Marina Orlando. Through the knowledge of the techniques, I slowly dedicated more and more time to working with clay. I gradually changed my approach: before I aimed to immediately create a fantastic figure. Now I dwell on experimenting, attempt new possibilities for modeling, decorate the mass of clay, up to elaborate functional objects or sculptures, with a process that leads me from the technique to the final realization. When I start a new piece, I almost never have in mind final shape, but I get it through experimentation.”

Antonia Schroeder dice di sè “La mia passione per la ceramica è iniziata cinque anni fa, nello studio dell’ artista ceramista Marina Orlando. Attraverso la conoscenza delle tecniche ho pian piano dedicato sempre più tempo al modellato, cambiando anche il tipo di approccio alla materia e mentre prima puntavo ad elaborare immediatamente una figura fantastica, ora mi soffermo a provare, tentare nuove possibilità di modellare, decorare la massa, fino ad elaborare oggetti funzionali o sculture, con un procedimento che dalla tecnica mi porta alla realizzazione finale. Quando inizio un nuovo lavoro non ho quasi mai in mente la forma che andrò ad elaborare, ma ci arrivo tramite la sperimentazione.”
